DESCRIPTION:Are you ready for days of fun\, UWP inspiration\, and some time off from everyday life? \nCome and join the EAM 2025 in Bochum (Germany) from May 2-4th\, 2025! And there will be Pre-EAM-activites\, starting Tuesday\, April 29th. \nBe part of a wonderful event. Feel and share the spirit of UWP. Meet up with more than 100 alumni from all over Europe and beyond. \nExplore and enjoy a special area of Germany\, the “Ruhrpott” – former industrial area for coal and steel production\, transformed by structural change – and one of its typical cities: BOCHUM. \nBOCHUM is the city of…\n… famous singer/songwriter Herbert Grönemeyer\,\n… the world’s best Currywurst (sausage)\,\n… industrial culture and the German Mining Museum\,\n… the Bermuda Triangle (pubs!!)\,\n… Vonovia Ruhrstadion\, site of Bundesliga soccer and other events\,\n… Starlight Express\, Germany’s longest running musical (since 1988\, that is World Record!)\,\n… urban art graffiti walk\,\n… and so much more… \nThe “Ruhrpott” is A LOT greener than most people think. Creativity\, innovation\, and nature have replaced the heavy industry that used to define the area. Did you know that no coal has been mined here since the 1980s? The area went through a metamorphosis and is greener and more livable now than ever before. You can… \n… visit lovely parks and learn how former industrial plant sites were transformed into cultural centers with theater\, dance\, arts\, exhibitions and cafés\n… see Baldeney See (lake)\, great for hiking and boat rides\n… climb giant sculptures such as “Tetraeder” or “Tiger and Turtle” on top of former mine tips (Halden)\n…experience a media exhibition in a former gasometer\, then climb to the top for an amazing view before visiting the adjoining shopping mall which is one of the largest in Germany\n… visit one of the numerous theaters and museums in the area\n… experience Germany’s largest metropolitan area “Rhein-Ruhr” that is home to 14 Million people in cities such as Essen\, Dortmund\, Oberhausen\, Duisburg… and Bochum! \nOf course\, there will be plenty of activities waiting for you and there are rumors the UWP Survival Band might not not play this time… \nBe part of an exciting and unique event – EAM in BOCHUM! Let’s celebrate and have a fun time with a bunch of Up with People-people: \nYou make the world better\nYou recharge our batteries\nYou can sleep next year\nYou are an expert on mingle and clump \nThe Moxy hotel (part of the Marriott group\, next to the Starlight Express theater) will be our base during EAM.
